Sohbet Society Retreat 2026

Sohbet Society is pleased to announce the Sohbet Society Retreat 2026, an annual educational and community development programme taking place from 29 June to 3 July 2026.

The retreat will bring together participants from across the United Kingdom and Europe for several days of learning, reflection, personal development, and meaningful community engagement. It is designed to offer a calm and supportive environment where participants can deepen their understanding, build friendships, and take part in enriching educational activities.

This year’s retreat will welcome Mr Huseyin Yagmur as the invited guest speaker. Throughout the programme, he will deliver a series of educational presentations and discussion sessions on themes related to prayer, supplication, reflection, and spiritual growth.

The lecture themes will include:

  • The Horizon of Supplication
  • Prayers in the Holy Qur’an
  • Classical Islamic Supplications and Reflections
  • The Treatise on Invocation
  • Prayer in the Risale-i Nur Collection
  • Reflections from the Prism / Pirlanta Series

Alongside the lecture sessions, the retreat will include a wide range of activities aimed at supporting personal and communal development. These will include discussion sessions, guest presentations, reading and reflection sessions, interactive learning activities, personal development workshops, community engagement activities, and networking opportunities.

A daily programme will guide participants through a balanced schedule of breakfast, lecture sessions, reading time, personal development activities, reflection sessions, and special presentations. While the schedule may be subject to minor adjustments, the retreat has been carefully structured to create a meaningful rhythm of learning, reflection, and connection.

The Sohbet Society Retreat is more than a gathering. It is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life, reconnect with core values, and engage in thoughtful conversations that inspire positive personal and social change.

As a registered charity, Sohbet Society continues to promote education, cultural exchange, community engagement, and social cohesion. The 2026 retreat will continue this mission by bringing people together in a spirit of learning, friendship, and shared purpose.

We look forward to welcoming participants to this special programme and sharing a memorable few days of knowledge, reflection, and community.
